It's not how you START, but its how you FINISH!

Welcome
We are honored to have you join a community rooted in purpose, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to change. Your presence here is more than support—it is a step toward transforming how chronic pain is understood, treated, and respected, especially within communities that have long been overlooked and underserved.
The BrendaBear Foundation was created in memory of Brenda Jean Harrison-Jones, a devoted educator, caregiver, and community servant whose life reflected compassion, strength, and selfless giving. Her story, however, also reveals the harsh realities of medical neglect and systemic inequities that continue to impact countless families today.
Through advocacy, education, and community-driven initiatives, we are working to ensure that no voice goes unheard and no pain goes dismissed. From our Pain Awareness Walk to our Coloring Book Initiative and scholarship efforts, every program is designed to turn awareness into action and remembrance into meaningful change.
As part of this movement, you are helping us challenge injustice, uplift voices, and demand a healthcare system grounded in equity, dignity, and compassion.
We invite you to stay connected, get involved, and walk with us as we continue to build a future where stories like Brenda’s are no longer the norm—but the catalyst for lasting reform.
Thank you for standing with us.
Our Mission
The BrendaBear Foundation exists to expose and dismantle racial disparities in pain management within the medical system. We advocate for equitable and compassionate care for individuals suffering from chronic pain by promoting education, raising awareness, supporting research, and building community support systems that channels enlivened experiences and justice.

Our Vision
We envision a healthcare system where pain is believed, assessed without bias, and treated equitably—regardless of race. In this vision, black and brown patients will receive the same quality of care, compassion, and medical intervention afforded by others, and communities are empowered to speak out against injustice and neglect.
