About Our Foundation

The BrendaBear Foundation was birthed through witnessing the merciless pain and neglect our honoree, the Late Brenda Jean Harrison-Jones endured while in the healthcare system. Brenda dedicated herself to serving others. She was a community servant and teacher for 45 years, providing education and support to Pre-K students and disabled youth Brenda also served as a Camp Fisher Counselor and Assistant Director and was a Girl Scout Troop Leader of Genesee-Valley. Her commitment to education and nurturing young minds left a lasting impact on the lives she touched and through her memory we are dedicated to advocating policy changes that would hold healthcare facilities  accountable for a delay of care.  Our movement and non-profit organization is  dedicated to raising awareness about the profound consequences of living with severe chronic pain and the effects it has on the family as a whole. Through our efforts, we strive to improve the quality of life for those affected by chronic pain and to ensure that no one suffers needlessly due to inadequate pain management.

Our Mission:

The BrendaBear Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness and providing social education about chronic pain syndromes. We strive to advocate for those affected by chronic pain by promoting understanding, advancing medical research, and fostering compassionate care within the medical community. Our goal is to empower individuals with chronic pain through education, support, and advocacy, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.

Our Vision

The BrendaBear Foundation envisions a world where chronic pain is recognized, understood, and effectively managed within the medical field. We aim to create a future where individuals with chronic pain syndromes receive comprehensive and empathetic care, free from neglect and stigma. Through our efforts, we aspire to transform societal and medical perceptions of chronic pain, ultimately improving the quality of life for all those affected.
